Reasonably tight fitting clothing, including leotards, yoga pants, unitards or tight fitting tops are prefered. Avoid loose clothing, it folds and gets caught up in the aerial silk apparatus. Shorts alone are ok but really leggings that extend past the knee helps to reduce the amount of burns behind the knee. A long sleeved tight fitting tee to prevent chaffing under arms is an item you may want to bring for certain skills. Leggings, tights or sweats should be tight at the ankle. Ask your instructor if you are unsure of your clothing selection. NO jeans, jewelry, no piercings left in, watches, zippers, metal grommets or anything that will snag the silks. Check your nails- they should be smooth, not nicks that could cause the silks to snag! Also no lotion or fake tanning, it ruins the experience for the others in your class. In addition, the silks have to be cleaned beyond their scheduled cleaning.
Bring along a bottle of water so that you can rehydrate immediately during and after. Drinking small sips will help to avoid too much water before & during your lesson. We suggest hydration is a constant battle so stay diligent. Inversions may be uncomfortable with a full stomach. (For the best results, hydrate regularly throughout the day.

Additionally, although designed for our aerialist who are more serious about advancing and want focused intense workouts beyond their skill level class, we offer classes labeled “aerial flexibility, strength, & conditioning,”. One of these is Aerial Strength & Conditioning which is designed to build your endurance by doing exercises on the apparatus, without any pressure to learn tricks. Your instructor has many variations of exercises to fit all different kinds of fitness or more exactly strength and conditioning levels. The other labeled Aerial Flexibility is designed to increase mobility and strength for aerial training. More advanced skills require advanced flexibility and core strength. This class is designed to safely guide you through active stretching exercises to build healthy, fluid movements. Flexibility and Mobility work together to give you an extended range-of-motion: whether on the ground or in the air.
